Hey, I’m Michele Lisenbury Christensen. Love doctor with soul + mama with mojo.
Love? Love is my superpower.
I’m here to liberate your libido and help you fine-tune your deep-seated desires in a soulful—not stripper heels-and-marabou-feathers—kind’a way.
I love to put the O back in HOME.
I believe love can last and passion is renewable.
I believe monogamy is the hottest place on earth.
I believe sexy is what we become when we learn to adore ourselves.
Not only that, but I believe women who are satisfied in the boudoir and at home are a potent force for change in the world.
The Hot Love Revolution is all about redefining monogamy and enabling you to indulge in the spine-tingling, love-fueled sex life you’ve been yearning for—with the partner you already have.
If you’re ready to reignite your monogamous relationship—and you’re committed to nurturing a sensual connection more nourishing than any sordid love affair—then check out my coaching packages.
Once flaccid, twice shy.
My husband and I were about as miserable as two people who love each other can be. After a decade together, our sex life had all but dried up and we were both desperately frustrated.
I didn’t know what to do—I could resign myself to a life without passion, choose to have an affair, or file for divorce. But I loved my husband, and none of those were an option for me.
Instead, I dedicated myself to finding tools that ultimately succeeded in revolutionizing our lifeless marriage and teaching us what it was to live a turned-on life.
Today, I use the same tools to help other couples (like you) do the same.
My greatest thrill.
I’ve been coaching all sorts of people all over the world since 1997— from stay-at-home moms, artists, and bestselling authors to professional athletes and a multitude of corporate executives and business owners.
The core of my work always revolved around what I like to call sacred ambition: the way our aspirations (building a career, creating a home, running a half-marathon, or improving a relationship) can stoke the fires of our spiritual development, and vice versa.
With sacred ambition as my gig, I’ve worked with thousands of self-aware, spiritually devoted people who also kick ass in business, politics, and social ventures. I love coaching in all these arenas. Still, my greatest thrill was always when a client who’d hired me for, say, leadership coaching, confessed they really needed to work on their intimate relationship instead.
Clients would tell me that my incisive intelligence, quick insight and compassionate, pull-no-punches candor helped their relationship as much as their business.
And that is why, no matter where we go in our coaching, today my clients come in through the door marked Relationship.
The spiritual connection.
I taught myself to meditate inside an empty refrigerator box when I was eight. (True story.)
And I found The Book of Ki: Coordinating Mind and Body in Daily Life in an Asian grocery store in Anchorage, Alaska when I was twelve.
I learned to train my body to calm and my mind to focus from a young age. In high school, I once slept soundly on a bus in Corfu Greece, full of chickens and loud folk music.
I’ve been a yogini since ’98 and a yoga teacher since 2003. My Master’s Degree in Psychology is rooted in the 5,000-year-old tradition of Yoga Psychology, with a focus on lasting change.
Today, my spiritual connection feeds me as I move through my crazy-busy life as a wife, mother and transformational relationship coach. And the sensual practice Kurt and I enjoy is another doorway to the divine: one we can share.
Want more? (You’re insatiable! I like it.)
I’m a confident, compassionate, sensual goofball.
I’ve been married to my best friend, Kurt, since 2000 (together since ’96) and we’re blessed with a gorgeous son, Cooper (born 2008) and hilarious daughter, Mira (born 2012.) We all live together in the 1942 Seattle house we took great pleasure and inordinate time remodeling.
(The weekly Love Notes I write are designed to elevate your relationship, and they often share what we’ve learned in ours.)
When we can, we like to answer the call to adventure—highlights to date include a trek through Patagonia, hittting London for 48 hours for a television appearance, crashing a wedding in Turkey, kayaking and dogsledding in Alaska, and swimming with dolphins in Mexico.
I adore Anusara Yoga, dancing my ya-yas off, Seattle’s year-round farmers’ markets, chai tea, and sinking into looong, scalding-hot baths.
